Class Recommendations

The SHPE E-board has created a new system to help out students during scheduling! Below is a link where students can enter classes and professors that they have found enjoyable or easier. This way all members can see which classes and professors to stay away from and in which to enroll! Please take some time to enter a few recommendations. You can find the spreadsheet HERE.

2017 SHPE National Conference
This year the SHPE National Conference will be in Kansas City! This is a great opportunity for all students (including freshman) to network with large company recruiters, attend useful professional workshops and possibly get internships!

Diversity Conference Scholarship
SHPE Buckeyes, want your SHPE National Conference registration paid for? How about an extra $1,200 for travel, hotel, & food expenses?! 

This is your opportunity to attend one of the below conferences, and #Microsoft is footing the bill!
  • Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (Oct 4 – 6, 2017 in Orlando, FL)
  • National Society of Black Engineers Conference (Mar 21 – 23, 2018 in Pittsburg, PA)
  • Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Conference (Nov 1 – 4, 2017 in Kansas City, MO)
  • Tapia Conference (Sept 20 – 23, 2017 in Atlanta, GA)
Students must be enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD program at a 4-year college or university in the US, Canada, or Mexico at the time the application is submitted. The scholarship is open to students pursuing Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM degree.

Travel, hotel, and meal stipend in the amount of $1,200 USD.
Microsoft will register the recipient to the awarded conference, and send a check directly to the recipient in the amount of $1,200 to cover travel, hotel, and meal expenses. These funds are not transferable to other individuals.
