The Ohio State University

The Ohio State University (OSU) is a public research university in the state of Ohio. It was founded in 1870 as a land-grant university and is currently the largest single-campus university in the United States. Ohio State is currently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the best public university in Ohio, among the top 60 universities in the United States, and among the top 20 public universities in the United States.

Columbus is a growing metropolis with a population of nearly 1.8 million, a moderate climate, and an interesting history. Ohio State's Columbus campus is situated—as it has been since 1870—about two miles north of downtown. Running along the east side of campus is High Street, one of Columbus's oldest roads and host to many of the shops and restaurants that serve the daily needs of the university community.
